The Genesis G90 long wheelbase is newly equipped with a 3.5 turbo 48V electric supercharger and provides differentiated dynamism and a luxurious experience in every process of occupant movement. The 3.5-turbo 48V electric supercharger is a next-generation powertrain that pursues 8-cylinder engine-level output and improved efficiency through a 48V battery system.

The maximum output of the 3.5 turbo 48V electric supercharger is 415 horsepower (PS), and the maximum torque of 56.0 kgf.m is uniformly realized from 1,300 rpm to 4,500 rpm. Compared to the V8 5.0L GDI of the first generation of the Genesis G90, the torque is improved by up to 35%. What technologies and principles are hidden behind this relaxed performance?

The 48V MHSG is a system that integrates a starter motor and an alternator (generator) and plays various roles in the driving process. Typical examples include the regenerative braking function that recovers kinetic energy wasted during deceleration and the extended ISG (Idle Stop & Go) function that improves efficiency by turning off the engine before the vehicle comes to a complete stop. Unlike general ISG, Extended ISG is a control function that further minimizes fuel consumption and emissions by stopping fuel injection during deceleration as well as at a stop
